The information available on the PolicyCo Home screen is dependent on the user's assigned role(s). By default, PolicyCo will associate the labels as Articles, Evidence and Frameworks. However, these labels are dynamic and can be updated to Requirements, Control Test, and Regulations in the Settings to meet industry terminology standards. For the purposes of these user guides, default terminology will be used in the user guide text.

Snapshot of Compliance Coverage

Owners, Policy Managers, and Department Managers will all see a snapshot of their compliance coverage from the Home area within the Editor interface. Compliance coverage is not viewable to other user roles. This compliance snapshot is a critical tool for understanding your compliance coverage across the entire organization.

Coverage Summaries are available for:

  • Control Coverage

  • Article Coverage

  • Procedure Coverage

  • Evidence Count

  • MAP (Management Action Plan) Count

Control Coverage

The total number (bottom value) of controls included in the Control Coverage snapshot is determined by the framework(s) added and active controls within the framework(s) . For example, if you have two frameworks added with a total of 180 Active external controls, 180 will be the bottom value and all external controls marked NA will not be included in this count.

The coverage number (top value) is determined by the number of active external controls that are linked to at least one article. The goal is that every active external control is linked to at least one article to ensure that you have policy in place that satisfies your external control requirements.

There is a circle icon that will fill with color as you move closer to linking all active external controls to at least one article, and once this is complete your circle icon will appear colored in fully.

When the view is expanded by clicking the square tile, a list of all active external controls that are not linked to an article will be provided. You can filter and sort the view for frameworks and controls. Clicking the icon under actions will direct the user to the individual external control.

Article Coverage

The total number (bottom value) of articles in the Article Coverage snapshot is determined by the number of articles written. This includes published, unpublished, drafts, and those in review - it's important to understand that coverage is not exclusive to published content and it is necessary to review the content to ensure that all applicable articles are published and policies set to an active status.

This is the total number (top value) is the number of procedures linked to at least one article.

There is a circle icon that will fill with color as you move closer to linking all articles to at least one procedure, and once this is complete your circle icon will appear colored in fully. PolicyCo understands that every article may not require a procedure and you can set them up accordingly by enabling/disabling procedure linking for each article. Beginning May 31, 2022, procedure linking is disabled by default, but any articles created prior to this date have them enabled by default.

When the view is expanded by clicking the square tile, a list of all articles that are not linked to a procedure will be provided. The user can also filter and sort the view for articles. Clicking the icon under actions will direct the user to the individual article.

Procedure Coverage

The total number (bottom value) of procedures in the Procedure Coverage snapshot is determined by the number of procedures written. This includes published, unpublished, drafts, and those in review - it's important to understand that coverage is not exclusive to published content and it is necessary to review the content to ensure that all applicable procedures are published.

This is the total number (top value) is the number of Evidence templates linked to procedures.

There is a circle icon that will fill with color as you move closer to mapping all procedures to at least one evidence template and once this is complete your circle icon will appear colored in fully.

When the view is expanded, a list of all procedures that are not linked to an Evidence Template will be provided. The user can also filter and sort the view for Department and Procedure. Clicking the icon under actions will direct the user to the individual article.

Evidence Count

The total number provided is the total number of Evidence Templates created.

MAP Count

The total number (bottom value) of Management Action Plans in the MAP Coverage snapshot is determined by the number of MAPs written. The top value is the number of MAPs completed.
