Sometimes you need to get your data out of the platform and into a spreadsheet. Whether you are preparing for an external audit, conducting a deep-dive analysis, or just love working in Excel, the Exports feature has you covered.
This tool generates a CSV (comma-separated values) file that captures all your regulation and policy data in one place. You can easily open this file in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet software.
Accessing Exports
You can find this tool by clicking Home in the left sidebar and selecting Exports.
What’s Included?
The export is designed to show the relationship between your external requirements and your internal policies. It includes:
Regulation Data: The Name, ID, and Description of the regulations or frameworks you are tracking.
Policy Data: The corresponding Policy Name, Version, Article Title, Content, and assigned Managers/Authors.
Note: If you have customized your organization's labels (e.g., using "Requirements" instead of "Articles"), the export will reflect those relationships.
Slice and Dice Your Data
Before you hit download, you can use the interactive grid to filter the data. This allows you to generate specific reports rather than dumping your entire database every time.
Here are a few ways to use the filters:
Filter by Regulation: Want to see only the controls related to SOC2 or HIPAA? Click the menu on the Regulation column and select the specific frameworks you need.
Filter by Policy: Want to see how a specific policy maps to the outside world? Filter the Policy column to isolate a single document.
Search by Keyword: Looking for something specific? You can type a topic (like "encryption" or "hiring") into the column menu to find all related regulations and policies.
Pro Tip: Finding Gaps
You can use the filters to perform a quick "gap analysis."
Unmapped Policies: Filter the Regulation column to show (Blanks). This will show you policies that aren't currently linked to any external regulation.
Unmapped Regulations: Filter the Policy column to show (Blanks). This creates a list of regulations you haven't addressed yet.
Downloading
Once you have filtered the view to show exactly what you want (or left it alone to grab everything), simply click the Download CSV button in the top right corner.
